Carb Free Diet

I have put on 30 pounds over the last three years. I would like to blame it on my extended term as PTO president or my hysterectomy but the truth is I ate and drank more than the calories I burned. I decided to blog about it as a way to increase my personal accountability and to share recipes, ideas and struggle with my fellow middle aged friends!

Well friends, I just had my one week weigh in after spending a full week on a carb free diet and learned an important lesson... I only dropped 2 pounds. Guess what? Just cuz vodka is carb free, it still has calories.

  1. I too have been trying to lose 30lbs. One thing I did a few weeks ago was to put some favorite clothing items (that dont fit anymore) in key places where I store or prepare food. For example - I have a gorgeous jacket I USED to be able to wear hangin in the pantry - and I have a SHOE in my fridge! The shoe is small and will fit in the fridge without crowding the essentials too much. I love the shoes but won't wear them because they were bought to match with a "skinnier" outfit lol. And everytime I open the fridge it immediately catches my eye - because the first thing you think is - omg what's a shoe doing in here! These little things help remind me to make wiser choices and they also give me more motivation! I tried pictures but they were too easy to overlook since we are usually busy and moving fast. I needed something more attention getting. Hope someone else can benefit from this strategy this as well! Robyn Neaville
